The CEFR is recognised worldwide as the definitive framework for language learning. BSL teaches and certifies students at all six levels from A1 through to C2.

Begin with the basics. A1 gives you the core vocabulary, phrases, and listening skills needed for the most fundamental daily interactions.

Half a century of transforming language learners

From a single English speaking school in 1971 to a globally trusted language institution — BSL’s story is one of continuous evolution and international reach.

1971
BSL begins as a specialised English speaking school. The founding programme — all four English skills plus a 12-week Personality Development course — sets the standard BSL maintains today.
1985
Foreign language expansion begins: French, German, Spanish, then nine more languages added progressively. CEFR framework (A1–C2) adopted as the global proficiency standard.
2003
Corporate training launched for MNCs, BPOs, schools, and corporates. BSL becomes a trusted language training partner for organisations across multiple industries.
2005
IELTS, PTE, and OET coaching programmes established. Study Abroad division created — offering Canada PR, Australian immigration, and international admissions consulting.
2009
ESL, TESOL, and TEFL certification programmes added. BSL introduces QR-verified digital certificates — a first in the language education sector.
2011
